Scholarly Interests

New ventures

Catherine teaches courses in Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management Theory, and Marketing. She has professional financial management and planning experience in the non-profit sector. She taught a three week seminar on the independent sector for the Washington Center, worked as a finance director for a home health agency, and developed programs and secured funding for a variety of community-based anti-poverty initiatives. Most recently, she contributed a case study of a suburban school district for inclusion in the Ohio Collaborative’s 2005 Conditions of Teaching Report. This year, Catherine will provide consultations and conduct workshops for new business start-ups through the University of Dayton’s Small Business Development Center.

She received the Ohio Credit Union League and the Credit Union National Association’s Edward A. Filene award for her work in the credit union movement.

At Antioch, Catherine served as Chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Social and Global Studies areas. Additionally, she was elected to serve as chair of the Faculty and Chair of the Faculty Executive Committee. In 2002 she was appointed Associate Dean of Faculty.
