Work Study

Antioch guarantees work study to all students that meet all priority deadlines.  Students can receive work study funds through federal work study programs or institutional work study programs.

Antioch Work-Study

Award: $1,750 per study term.

Antioch's Work-Study is a form of institutional aid designed to assist students with the cost of their education by providing on-campus employment opportunities.  Students must file the FAFSA and the Antioch College Information Form by the priority deadline.

Federal Work-Study Program

Award: $1,750 per study term.

Federal Work-Study is a form of need-based federal aid designed to assist students with the cost of their education by providing on and off-campus employment opportunities to students during each study term. The amount students can earn is based upon financial need and the availability of funds at Antioch.

For most students, earnings from this job are used for books and personal expenses rather than direct costs. The pay rate for on campus employment starts at $7.15 an hour. An award of $1,750 per study term equals around 15 hours of work per week, depending on the number of actual weeks worked and rate of pay. If eligible, the Financial Aid Office will indicate Federal Work-Study as part of your aid package.

Work Study While on Co-Op

Some co-op jobs pay students using Federal Work-Study money provided students Federal Work-Study eligibility.  To explore this possibility, ask your Co-op advisor.

The Co-op Department verifies eligibility for all Work-Study co-op students with the Financial Aid Office. DO NOT accept a Federal Work-Study co-op position until verification has been completed and applicable students have been cleared by the Financial Aid Office. Once students have been cleared and placed in a Co-op position, financial aid awards for those students will be revised to reflect the Co-op position.

The Co-op living expense budget is $4000 per term; which is the maximum students can receive from all financial aid sources.  So, if you are receiving any other aid toward these costs, such as a Bonner stipend, or loans, you will be eligible for less in FWS for the Co-op.
