In Other News

Gail Taylor, adjunct instructor of critical writing at the McGregor Weekend College and Phonathon Coordinator for College Admissions, completed a residency at the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, NH. She wrote a book-length poetry manuscript, exploring issues of transience, womanhood and the African American experience. Work from the manuscript appears in the Spring issue of Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, and in the forthcoming anthology, Wild Sweet Notes II: More West Virginia Poetry (2004).

Kristin Famula ’03, Johan Liebert ’03, Meredith Morelli ’03, Caroline Nappo ’03, Gwen Ross ’03, Leisa Schaim ’01, Nathaniel Smith ’03, Staci Willits ’03, and Masako Yamano ’03 had paper proposals selected for presentation at the Peace Studies Conference – Shadows of War, Visions of Peace – at the University of Notre Dame. Their participation in the conference was made possible by a grant from the Chatterjee Fund, which aims to expand peace awareness at Antioch College.

Jennifer Murphy ’03, Jenn Doscher ’03, Katherine Lighty ’03 and Meredith Morelli ’03 presented papers at the American Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies Conference in Chicago. They were the only undergraduate students presenting at the conference. Their papers were based on their senior projects.
