My room, my roommate (more)
What happens if I can’t get along with my roommate?
Although it’s extremely rare, it does occasionally happen that two people who are in a room together will have trouble getting along. We have solutions for things like this.
Our first line of defense is our outstanding Resident Assistants. These folks are students who are employed by the Dean of Students office to live in the dorm with you and help you out in your daily life. If you’re having trouble with your roomie, go talk to your RA. He or she is there to help you think of possible solutions or to talk to your roommate.
If that doesn’t seem to help, consider stopping by our counseling center. There, you’ll find trained mediators who can help you come up with a compromise that works for you.
As a last resort, you can go talk to the Director of Residence Life. Together, you can find a solution that you can live with.
