Campus Safety
Believe it or not, Antioch faces the same safety concerns and issues as the "real world," and it's important that community members follow basic safety guidelines to protect themselves and others.
- Lock all doors, including external building doors and room doors.
- Carry your keys with you at all times.
- Always lock your bicycle and vehicle.
- After dark, walk in pairs or call Security for an excort.
- Avoid isolated areas, such as the bike path by the Glen, after dark.
- Report the presence of suspicious strangers or unusual behavior immediately.
- Report all thefts, regardless of how small, to the Security Office immediately.
- When using trunk rooms, lock your possessions and make sure the trunk room door is locked upon exit.
- Register your guests
- Use fire equipment only in valid emergencies; fines and/or imprisonment may result from tampering. Never block or disable smoke alarms!
- Dial 911 for emergencies.
Reaching Security: Security officers are on campus from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.,with 24-hour coverage on weekends. Dial 1010 from any campus phone, or from off campus, 937-974-2870.
Register your Car: Car registration is required for all students, faculty and staff. See the Office of Student Affairs (102 Main Building, Phone 1160 (937-769-1160) for a registration form. You will receive a sticker for your car's rear window.
Accidental Lockout: If you are locked out of your building or room, the Security Office will let you in. During the day, contact the Housing Director.
Escort: The Security officers are happy to provide escorts to various places on campus at night. They can be reached by dialing 1010 from any campus phone after 4:00 p.m.
