Kathy came to Antioch in fall 2005 with ten years experience as classroom faculty in behavioral sciences. As co-op faculty, Kathy enjoys helping students prepare for work, but her research interests focus on the concept of leisure. Since receiving her Ph.D. in Leisure Studies, Kathy has written in the areas of family leisure, leisure and mental health, adolescence, and most recently is involved in examining the role of active/sedentary leisure in influencing childhood obesity. As you'd expect, Kathy greatly values leisure in her own life. Some of her favorite leisure activities include biking, running, hiking, yoga, camping, cooking, gardening, all kinds of music, and adventure recreation.
